(repost for the day crowd) This last weekend was the 60th Annual Portland Roadster Show help at the Expo Center in Portland Oregon. I have been going to the show pretty much my entire life and I can safely say this was by far the best show that has been held here. There was all kinds of amazing show cars on display from past Ridler and AMBR winners to historic car to fresh builds. My full album of the show can be found !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . Below is just a small taste of the awesome things from the show. Results for my families and I participation as follows:
- My 2014 Camaro SS/RS took 2nd in Contemporary Hardtop, The 68 Camaro didnt place (was in a very tough class)
- My club (Columbia River Camaro Club) took Best Club Display
- Miss Taboo (My grandpas 56 Chevy custom) took 2nd in Full Hardtop, and an Outstanding Individual Display award.
- Miss Taboo was also Inducted into the Portland Roadster Show Hall of Fame! This is the pinnacle achievement you can earn at the show.

Also I am fairly new to the NW, is there any shows that you would recommend as must-see?

if your up near Puyallup for the Rodarama then you need to hit the goodguys show at the same place in July, over 3000 classic cars crusing those fairgrounds over a weekend. Ill be heading up there for the show this year. End of the World rod run is another great event as well.

Thanks. I’m about 20 minutes from the fairgrounds and have gone there for swap meets a couple of times. I’ll be going to the Goodguys for sure as I’ve seen their shows in Phoenix and Denver and they are always fantastic. Will look into the World Rod Run as I had not heard of that one.

Yeah goodguys in puyallup is really good, they have their own drag racing at SIR on Friday of the event I highly recommend as well. The End of The World rod run is usually held around Labor Day and is also a weekend event. It's held in Long Beach Washington.

Is that first orange thing a Brit Ford Ten? Looks like it.

The Elco Twin heads are apparently crazy rare. That’s quite a setup.

I’m loving the chop on that ‘62 Impala, and the green Deuce is perfect. Great shots, thanks for sharing and congrats on the solid results!

It was a Thames Panel, I just thought Anglia. I'm not too sure on the British Fords

I heard it running when he drove in, sounded really cool but it also had a 3/4 race cam stuffed in it.

I really liked that duece. Just has the right proportions for a traditional rod, plus it was a 4 speed rod.

It actually had quite a bit of body work done. All the door handles shaved, a full louvered hood and some other things.

Panel version of that. Incredibly tiny engine. At first glance I thought it might be a Ford Popular/Anglia, but the Popular has a different grill from being a facelift of a facelift of that. Same car, basically, the orange one is just a pre-war earlier version.

From what I was seeing, one of the more popular ways to run those heads is with two dizzys, mixing early and late version Flathead timing cover stuff - but there’s also a dizzy off some straight eight with twin ignition that gets used.

Was it a V8? Some of the things listed on it’s board didn’t impress me much. Just the exhaust and sway bars make me think it was a V6. Not that that’s wrong or not cool, but I’m just surprised they put so much work into it. I would have gone a different direction with the V6.
But hey, I DD a Magnum RT, so I can’t really talk, now can I?

I can't remember what it had, I think it was a V8 though.

It has twin distributors running the heads. The guy had it running good when he drove it in. Also had a Columbia two speed rear end
